Alumnus of the college and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai as well as Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BS Yeddyurappa, several ministers and MLAs were present in the program. Shah advised the students and youth to read about the freedom struggle and the people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He said, “Not everyone is lucky enough to lay down their lives for the country like our soldiers. We cannot sacrifice our lives for the country, but we can live our lives for this country.”
