Seema Javed, an environmentalist and working for Clean Energy, reacting to the Union Budget, said that the Union Budget 700-958 Government has chosen green development i.e. green growth among its 7 major priorities. This is a welcome step. Budget allocation for energy transition including green hydrogen, emphasis on battery storage and announcement of green credits clearly show that India is not oblivious to the effects of climate change on its population. It is worth noting that the way the country is facing climate change for the last few years and the kind of deadly heat that has been predicted this year and the country is sometimes facing the havoc of drought and sometimes flood, the provisions made by the government in the budget prove this. Let’s say that the government is not oblivious. This budget will help in increasing green energy, green mobility, green jobs and accelerate energy transition in the country. 28698 1st April with a capital of Rs. Credit guarantee for MSMEs through a revised scheme with effect from is also a welcome addition. step.

Martand Shardul (Policy Director, Global Wind Energy Council) believes that the Union Budget 498- The way green hydrogen has been supported and energy transition has been talked about, it will definitely help in increasing the production of solar and wind energy. Along with this, other hybrid projects can also be increased with the help of the government. The cost of renewable energy is very low and the production of green hydrogen through this will also be cheap, because both water and sunlight are present in abundance in India. Green hydrogen economy will be strengthened due to low rate production. Martand Shardul says that the way the budget has talked about promoting clean energy transition will also help thousands of MSMEs which are wind based.

Ulka Kelkar (Director, Climate Programme, WRI) said that the way India is moving towards the goal of zero emissions Growing up, that’s welcome. The government has made a budget allocation of crore rupees, but to achieve the goal of zero emissions in India, per years approx 24 BILLION DOLLARS WILL BE NEEDED. This will require three types of measures: cost reduction, demand aggregation measures as done for LED lighting and electric buses and last but not least financing for hydrogen electrolyzers and offshore wind.

Nishant Saxena (Director of Climate Story) said that this budget is different because its priority is green. There is growth. Green growth is one of the seven priorities of this budget. By including green growth in the budget priorities, the government has once again strongly shown its sensitivity towards climate change and its commitment to deal with it. Provisions like Renewable Energy Evacuation, Gobardhan Yojana, Green Credit Program, Energy Storage Projects and Mishti make this budget very special.
