Coimbatore Cylinder Car Blast Case: Police officials said on Sunday that Tamil Nadu Police has handed over the documents of Coimbatore cylinder car blast case to the NIA on Saturday evening. Expressing dissatisfaction over the alleged state government’s delay in handing over the Coimbatore blasts case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Friday said there should be no politics on terrorism. According to the latest information received, a team of National Investigation Agency has reached the Coimbatore cylinder blast site for investigation.

) Raj Bhavan said Governor Ravi also expressed serious concern over the possible destruction of vital evidence in the high-profile terror conspiracy. The governor praised the police who established the car blast as a serious terror attack conspiracy within hours of the incident and lamented the laxity by the state government. He urged not to do any politics on terrorism and to show no leniency towards terrorists as they are the enemy of the country and no one’s friend.

Meanwhile, AIADMK leader and former Tamil Nadu minister RB Udaya Kumar slammed the DMK government over the law and order situation. He said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin should tell the people what measures he has taken to stop terrorist activities in the state. The NIA registered the case after an order was issued by the Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization (CTCR) Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and asked the Anti-Terrorism Agency to initiate a probe into the matter.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin recommended NIA probe
The MHA order comes a day after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin recommended an NIA probe into the case. Stalin, in a recommendation letter to the Home Ministry on Wednesday, had requested to transfer the investigation of the case related to the car cylinder blast in Ukkadam area of Coimbatore to the NIA and directed the police to ensure security in Coimbatore.
