Congress In Trouble Before Rajasthan Assembly Elections, Sachin Pilot And Ashok Gehlot Tussle Continues

Assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan next year, before which the party is cautious about the Congress leadership in the state. It goes on talking that one side wants to see Congress’s strong leader Sachin Pilot as the Chief Minister. At the same time, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has widespread support from the legislative wing of the state unit. Although the party high command has not yet clarified anything on the possible change in the state. But after the resignation of Rajasthan in-charge Ajay Maken, the speculation has intensified once again. , Be aware that an attempt to replace Ashok Gehlot and install Sachin Pilot has failed in the month of September. During this, the party high command was also seen as an embarrassment. After this, Sachin Pilot also met the then Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. Then the MLAs of Gehlot camp challenged the high command and said that any attempt to remove Gehlot could lead to the fall of the state government.

Many leaders of Rajasthan Congress have appealed to the party high command to take a decision on the party leadership before the Bharat Jodo Yatra. But taking such a decision before Rahul Gandhi reaches Rajasthan can prove fatal for the party. Some Congress leaders while talking to Hindustan Times have also said that, if the high command makes any kind of change in the leadership, chaos may spread by Gehlot supporters before the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

If political experts are to be believed, the Congress high command needs to tread carefully on this issue. Significantly, there was a change in leadership in Punjab just 5 months before the assembly elections, where Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had to leave the CM’s chair. After this Congress failed to form the government in the state. It may also be mentioned that in the internal discussion after the elections, many leaders had accepted that the move of the party to change the chief minister so close to the elections was not appropriate.
