Former IPS Officer Sanjeev Bhatt's Wife's Petition Dismissed In Gujarat High Court, Know What Is The Matter

The Gujarat High Court today dismissed a petition filed by Shweta Bhatt, wife of former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sanjeev Bhatt, seeking information on the reasons for withdrawal of police protection provided to the family. Dismissing the petition in ‘larger public interest’, Justice Nirjar Desai said that if the government is asked to present the relevant documents, then the confidentiality of the process of providing or withdrawing police protection would be breached. The court said that security was provided to Bhatt and his family as he was a witness in the case in which the then chief minister (Narendra Modi) was involved, but ‘now the situation is not the same as you (Sanjiv Bhatt) are in jail’. ,
