As per the ADR report, during the analysis it was found that the candidates having criminal cases against them had a winning probability of 63 percent. . Whereas, the probability of victory of the candidates with clean record was only 16 percent. Party-wise analysis shows that BJP was the only party which had almost equal chances of winning candidates who did not have criminal cases against them. An analysis of 65 candidates and MLAs/MPs revealed that candidates with criminal records had a winning probability of 65 percent and Those who did not have criminal cases against them had 65 percent chance of winning.
