Earlier this year, the BTP forged an alliance with Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which did not last long. Party sources said that Chhotu Vasava (75, who was earlier with the Janata Dal (United) is not expected to contest the elections this time due to ill health. The party has fielded BTP member Bahadursinh Vasava from Dediapada. Other candidates include Raojibhai Pandor (Khedbrahma), Narendra Rathwa (Pavijetpur), Nitin Vasava (Ankleshwar) and Subhash Vasava (Mangrol). Barring Ankleshwar, all other five assembly seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. The party had on Sunday announced the first list of 12 candidates, out of which nine candidates were fielded from ST-reserved seats.
