High Court: Order To Continue The Selection Process In The Medical Specialist Recruitment Case, Ban On Giving Appointment Letter

(Indicative picture) – Photo: Social Media Expansion The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given justifiable relief in the matter of recruitment of Medical Specialists across the state. The court has ordered to continue the selection process, but has stayed the appointment letters. A single bench of Justice Anand Pathak said that if the government does not submit a reply till the next hearing, then the issue of interim relief will be heard. The next hearing on the matter will be on February 9. The state government issued three advertisements for the recruitment of vacant seats of medical specialists across the state in July and August. A few days after the release of the advertisement i.e. 233 August 1669184800 have been amended in the Recruitment Rules. According to the revised rules, these recruitment should now be through competitive examination. 233 doctors from different districts including Dr. Zoya Khan of Jabalpur filed a petition challenging the said advertisement. It was said on behalf of the petitioners that even if there is a change in the rules during the recruitment process under the guidelines of the Supreme Court, appointments should be made under the revised rules only. It was argued on behalf of the petitioners that on the one hand the government is continuing the selection process and on the other hand the reply is presented in the court. Not doing In such a situation, if appointments are made, the seniority of the petitioners will be affected. Undertaking was given by the government that the reply will be presented till the next hearing. After which the court gave the above order.
