About a month ago, there was a lot of ruckus regarding this matter. After the demonstration of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and students, an FIR was lodged against the author, publisher as well as the principal of the college under non-bailable sections. The principal had resigned from his post only after the protest. Now the police is adamant about his arrest. The state government wanted to challenge the anticipatory bail granted to Dr. Rehman from the High Court, on which the Supreme Court reprimanded it. There was a ruckus regarding the book ‘Collective Violence and Criminal Justice System’ by Amar Law Publication. It has been written by Professor Dr. Farhat Khan, who teaches in the college, who has issued an apology regarding this book in 2021 Huh. He also made necessary changes in that book. Even after this, it was revealed that the old book was in the library. Students allege that it is of anti-national nature. Can harm religious fabric and unity. However, Dr. Enamur Rahman told the court that the book was published in 2021. Then the college had bought it. Then he was not the principal but a professor in the college. He was not even in the committee to buy books. The case against him has been filed for political reasons. He has neither been involved in marketing nor publishing the book. Chief Justice Chandrachud told the state government’s lawyer that ‘ are you serious? You must have more serious work to do. He is the college principal. Why do you want to arrest him? A controversial book has been found in his college library, in which some communal things have been written. Is his arrest necessary because of this? The book has been bought at 2021 and you want to arrest them? Are you serious?’ Students had filed a complaint State Government’s counsel said that LLM student has made complaints that Dr. Rahman was teaching him from that book. The claims of this book are false and baseless. The statements of the principal regarding this are also contradictory. On the one hand they say that they do not know the book, while they were teaching from it. On this, Justice Chandrachud said that you want to challenge the order, you can.
