Joshimath Crisis: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Thursday that as soon as reports of all technical institutions regarding the causes of landslide in Joshimath come, further planning will be done. Work should be done fast and the government should be informed soon after taking suggestions from the people regarding displacement. While reviewing the ongoing relief work in Joshimath after returning from Delhi, the Chief Minister said that as soon as the reports of all the central technical institutes studying the landslide-hit town are received, work on further planning should be started there.
Investigation is going on in these institutions Institutes like Central Building Research Institute, National Geophysical Research Institute, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Geological Survey of India, Central Ground Water Board, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing and IIT Roorkee have been working in the city since the landslide surfaced in Joshimath. Studying from different aspects. All the institutes have said to give their preliminary report in two to three weeks. Dhami said that suggestions should be taken after meeting the local people for displacement and Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana should send the report to the government as soon as possible after taking suggestions from the local people.
