karnataka maharashtra border dispute: After the border dispute between Assam-Meghalaya, now more disputes have arisen in two states. In fact, the Chief Ministers of both the states have come face to face in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute case and the matter seems to be increasing. Meanwhile, a case of throwing black ink on the poster of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at Mumbai’s Mahim bus stop has come to light, after which there is a possibility of further escalation of the controversy.
The matter heated up after the statements
There is a standoff between the Chief Ministers of both the states regarding the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said recently that his government will not let even an inch of Maharashtra’s land go to anyone’s name. Not only this, Fadnavis has also said that no village in Maharashtra will go to Karnataka. Here former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also attacked Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on the border dispute between the two states.
What did Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai say
Here the statement of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has also come regarding the matter. He expressed displeasure over the statement of Maharashtra leaders and said that India is a union of states. Every state has its own right. The law is very clear. He further said that it is the duty of the respective governments to help in creating peace, law and order and focus on creating peace and tranquility in the states.
After Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s claim on Tuesday, there was political heat in Maharashtra. Bommai had said that some gram panchayats in Jat taluka of Sangli district had in the past passed a resolution demanding merger with Karnataka when they were facing severe water crisis.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut has given his reaction on the matter. He claimed that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari raised the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute issue to divert people’s attention from the “insult” case of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
