02 EXTENSION RIGHT TO INFORMATION A petition was filed in the High Court against not starting the online facility to get information under Hearing the petition, a bench of Chief Justice Ravi Vijay Kumar Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra of the High Court has issued notice to the State Government and the State State Information Commission, seeking their response. The next hearing on the petition has been fixed after four weeks.
In the PIL filed on behalf of Advocate Vishal Baghel, President of Madhya Pradesh Law Students Association, it was said that by the Parliament 2005 was given the right to ask questions to the government under the Right to Information Act. Provision was made in the law that according to section 6 of the RTI Act, any person can ask for documents or information from the government by sending a written application, online or by other means. It has been said in the petition that it is not possible to comply with these provisions without making online arrangements. The Government of India has made an online system for the application by creating an RTI portal in the year 2013. The Central Information Commission has also created an online portal for appeals and complaints. After a long correspondence, the state of Madhya Pradesh has an online portal in the year 2021, but all the departments and government offices have not been added to it. Due to this citizens are deprived of the facility of online application. The web portal of the Central State Information Commission does not have the facility of online submission of appeals and complaints under the RTI Act. After hearing the petition, the couple bench issued notice to the petitioners and sought their response. ,
