MP News: Relief To Balaghat MP Dhal Singh Bisen From High Court, Petition Challenging His Election Dismissed

Expansion Madhya Pradesh High Court has given relief to Balaghat MP Dhal Singh Bisen. A single bench of High Court Justice Sanjay Dwivedi has dismissed the election petition challenging his election.

Bahujan Samaj Party’s candidate Kankar Mujare had filed the said election petition in the year challenging the election of MP Bisen. In the petition, it was said that there was a disturbance in the EVM and in the nomination paper, the MP did not give complete information about the property of the family members. Apart from this, the acceptance of nomination of Kishor Samrite as an independent candidate was also challenged.

The petition stated that Kishore Samrite had given false information in his nomination paper. The court sentenced him to five years in the criminal case.

The High Court has stayed the sentence. The single bench found in this case that the independent candidate did not get enough votes to materially influence the election. The EVMs were checked on complaints of irregularities during the counting of votes. The EVM was found correct in the investigation. The petitioners failed to lead evidence in respect of the other allegation. The single bench dismissed the election petition considering it baseless. ,
