Supreme Court on Sedition Law: A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday regarding changes in the controversial sedition law. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the order granting a temporary stay on the sedition law and the resulting cases to be registered will remain in force. Court has given additional time to the Center on Monday in view of taking appropriate steps to review this provision.
Centre asked the court for some more time
Attorney General R Venkataramani told a bench of Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justices S Ravindra Bhatt and Bela M Trivedi that some more time should be given to the Center as something may happen in this regard in the winter session of Parliament. .
