Air and rail services were affected in the valley due to fresh snowfall on the last day of ‘Chillai-Kalan’ in Kashmir. According to officials, moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in the plains of Kashmir, while the higher reaches received heavy to very heavy snowfall. According to officials, there was about 7 inches of snowfall in Srinagar, more than 1 foot in Gulmarg, 9 inches in Pahalgam, 1.5 feet in Gurez and about 4 inches in the plains of Kupwara district. Higher reaches received 1 to 2 feet of snow.
