The mercury dropped to 6.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday in Similiguda area of Koraput district in Odisha. With this, it remained the coldest area of the state. The mercury in Similiguda has dropped by 2.6 degrees since Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the cold has also increased in G Udayagiri area of Kandhamal district and the minimum temperature has been recorded at eight degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of light to moderate fog at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts in the next two days. The department predicts that a low pressure area may form over the Bay of Bengal.
